In this article we will show you how to unlock US Netflix free of charge so you can enjoy the latest films and the much larger choice !
There’s no doubt that online media streaming sites are changing the world of entertainment. In the UK when you compare the costs of a subscription to something like amazon Prime or Netflix with a full scale subscription to Sky or BT the difference is incredible. The satellite subscription is nearly ten times the cost of Netflix and it’s arguable whether the content is even as good.
Of course, the big networks have sports subscriptions to fund but if you take those away they look extremely bad value compared to a few quid on Netflix. The problem I have with something like Sky is that it’s full of stuff you don’t want top watch, scheduled at stupid times of the day. Sure you an record loads but all that does is create your own streaming service, Netflix does all that for you without the hassle.
There are still annoyances though, and they can be frustrating. One of the worst with Netflix is the sudden and unexpected removal of some box set when you’re half way through. I think I was on episode 30 something of the sci-fi programme Lost when it suddenly was removed from Netflix – as you can imagine it was very frustrating. The problem is that outside it’s own content Netflix has to individually license movies and TV shows for each region. Which means that you’ll find massive variations between local versions of Netflix if you travel around. When UK Netflix ahem ‘lost’ Lost, it was still on a few other versions of Netflix around the world.
It was during this incident that I started looking for ways to access these different versions – initially so I could find out what was going on with that damned Island! (I should point out that this was actually futile as I watched the rest of Lost and I still have no idea!). Nevertheless I did find a way to switch versions and access Netflix in other countries, it’s actually like doubling or tripling your subscription in many cases as there’s so much out there.
How to Unblock US Netflix Free
Take for example Canadian and US Netflix, there’s thousands of movies and TV shows that simply don’t exist on all the other versions of Netflix. The latest Star Wars Blockbuster – The Last Jedi has been on the US version for months, it’s nowhere to be seen in European Netflix versions. How do you switch, well initially it was quite simple – you just needed a proxy or VPN to hide your true location. So if you were in the UK and connected to a US server then you’d get access to the US version of Netflix instead. Unfortunately this didn’t last long and soon there was a Netflix proxy ban in place which stopped access from these servers.
Fortunately this was solved by some companies who managed to figure out how Netflix was banning so many of these servers. It was actually quite simple, they simply blocked access to any commercially registered IP address. This sounds trivial but 99.9% of all the VPN and proxy servers had commercial IP addresses which meant overnight most of them stopped working. The only ones that do work now are those which have residential IP addresses and not commercial ones. You need a valid Netflix IP address like this or you won’t be able to access the site at all.
Obtaining a residential IP addresses though is actually quite difficult as the only reliable source is through an ISP. Even then they are only allowed to assign to home users through traditional internet connection packages. They certainly don’t release huge blocks of residential addresses to VPN service providers just to unblock netflix. A few providers have managed to obtain these addresses though and a couple will even still work with Netflix. Most though tend to focus on unlocking US Netflix simply because it has by far the largest catalog available online.
There are literally only a couple of firms who now support Netflix simply because it’s so much trouble. What’s more there’s only one who will let you unblock US Netflix free on any sort of trial basis. The vast majority of VPNs and unblock websites don’t work with any version of Netflix anymore. Although they often conveniently forget to update their websites, there’s lots advertising which simply don’t work anymore. Always ask first or try and get a cheap VPN or DNS trial before investing in longer subscription.
It is seriously worth it though, depending on where you live you could find your Netflix catalog virtually doubles you’ll certainly add a huge amount of films and box sets that’s for sure.
If you want a suggestion to try it out which is actually completely free then click the link below. It’s called Smart DNS and can be setup on virtually any device you watch Netflix on quickly and easily. That’s right an american Netflix DNS free trial, with no commitments.

Hi Brent, Unfortunately it will only unblock US Netflix. I’m not aware of any service that unlocks the French one. The problem is that it requires residential IP addresses in the target country. They are really difficult and expensive to obtain, so companies tend to focus on the US version only.
Honestly it does work but only with US Netflix, I use it every day. Try the free trial – it takes two minutes to set up, costs you nothing and you can see it working. There’s no subscription or agreement to sign.
