Hi Jenny, using soleslayer is a great move it’s one of the best sneaker bot programs you can buy. As far as proxies go, I’d stay away from the data center ones they generally don’t work with the bigger sneaker websites like Supreme, Nike etc. I’ve found the best sneaker proxies for Soleslayer are from IpBurger use the footsite proxies.

For flexibility and variety you should look at Bright Data their dashboard is very flexible and configurable. It’s a little bit technical but not too difficult when you get used to it. You can access all sorts of IPs on a single pricing plan and they have addresses all over the world. Have a look at their waterfall feature as it will try different types of IP automatically to see which works (you can test the cheapest first). Don’t use this if you know you’ll need residential IP addresses though as you risk getting banned in some use cases.

It’s called soleslayer I want to use it to buy some sneakers. Do you think data center proxies would work for this – or do I need proper footsites proxies instead? thanks jen

I’ve tried many companies and found that Storm and IPburger work best for the shoe sites I use regularly. You’ll need proxies for most bot tasks nowadays and they need to have a decent size IP pool. One thing you didn’t mention is that many shared proxies rotate the addresses, that can cause problems if it happens in the middle of checking out. Some companies have sticky IPs or ensure that they keep one IP address per connection and only rotate after.

I managed to cop multiple pairs from Supreme for a really rare drop using the snkrs proxies they recommended – they were really reasonable in price too. Problem is that so many companies work with addresses on same subnet and load them onto their proxy plans with no testing. The Bot owners generally use their own Bots too so will know which works for which drops, changes a lot especially on the various shopify sites,

I don’t need an unlimited number of residential IPs but I’m concerned about the failure rate using standard datacenter ones. Is there a company who will mix and match my IP requirements as needed to each task? I’d need an IP address in various locations (mainly US) but only for certain tasks? Any thoughts?

Comment on ITV Hub Not Working with VPN by https://cipec.org/computing/itv-hub-not-working-with-vpn#comment-22548 Sun, 15 Nov 2020 20:25:17 +0000 https://cipec.org/?p=1400#comment-22548 In reply to Sylvie Kallio.

There should only be DNS servers listed associated with the VPN service. So typically you’ll just see one server there, if there’s lots then you have a problem and you’ll probably not be able to watch ITV Hub. Most of the mainstream VPNs don’t leak DNS requests so it’s likely your issue is somewhere else – look at hardcoded DNS servers and disable extensions in your browser. Switching to a new install of another browser is a good way to isolate an extension issue.

Comment on Why it’s Hard to Buy Proxies with Static Residential IP Addresses by https://cipec.org/science/buy-proxies-with-static-ip-addresses#comment-22529 Fri, 13 Nov 2020 16:24:35 +0000 https://cipec.org/?p=1031#comment-22529 In reply to seo steve.

yes, you can configure those options in the proxy manager dashboard. It’s also worth checking out the ‘waterfall feature’ which allows you to switch between different IP address types. For example try a datacenter IP first before switching to another if there’s a failure to connect. It means you don’t send all your network traffic through more expensive options and only use static residential proxies when you need to. Takes a little practice but the proxy manager can reduce the cost of your proxy and business operations if you learn to use it.

Jena, you’re almost certainly going to have to use one of the bigger companies. I’d start with Luminati, they can definitely help you.

Yes it’s easy to do. It depends on the application which option you use. To just route through your browser you just set the proxy server gateway address in your browser network settings. If using an application there’s normally a proxy setting or a setting to enable port forwarding. You can configure the exact addresses through the proxy manager in the case of Luminati for example.
